Growing up, I was never the smartest kid in the classroom, but I understood the value of a good education. It's what opened doors of opportunity for me and helped me gain the confidence to pursue my dreams. However, I realized that not everyone has access to quality education, especially those in rural areas.
My interest in education grew further when I personally experienced the impact of misdiagnosis and mistreatment of mental illness in Nepal. It's a topic that is still considered taboo in our society, and it's time we start talking about it openly. Through cognitive behavioral therapy, I found a way to manage my own mental health, but I know there are many others out there who are struggling silently. That's why I want to become a Teach For Nepal Fellow - to work towards creating a safe and supportive environment in schools, where students can learn, grow, and thrive.
As a Fellow, I aspire to be an agent of change in the lives of struggling students in public schools. I look forward to working with stakeholders in rural communities, gaining their trust, and developing solutions to improve academic performance. The Teach For Nepal Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to immerse myself in the local culture, learn adaptive skills, and contribute towards sustainable development.
Through this journey, I hope to develop my leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, which will not only help me personally but also contribute to the betterment of society. I believe that every child deserves the right to quality education, and I am committed to working towards that goal.
