Education: B.B.A., Little Angels' College of Management, Kathmandu University, Nepal

From early on in life, my siblings were very ambitious. Compared to me, they performed well in school. This is the reason why my parents had high expectations from me as well. Add to that, we had come to Kathmandu and had struggled to adjust with the city life. Our family once came to that point in life when my father lost his job because he didn’t want to take a bribe and we had financial difficulties. The situation made my parents insecure about our future so they wanted us to grow up and land on secure and high paying jobs.

However, apart from studies, I also had interests in a lot of other things. During my high school and college, I was interested in sports; I was an active basketball player. I also participated and won two beauty pageant titles; Queen Nepal 2010 and 1st Runner up in Miss Youth Nepal 2015. I even worked as a VJ for a program in Nepal Television. Scoring the highest in English in SLC from my school was another big achievement for me.

The dream my parents dreamt for me was not wrong. They wanted me to be happy and live a prosperous life. But I had different plans for myself. I wanted to work for others, help them and find happiness in that way. As I grew up, I worked on both of the plans; my parents’ and mine. I studied Management while I was involved in various social organizations.

Then I got a chance to teach in a school in Kavre Palanchowk for one and half months. That was when I realized that I’m good with children and I love them. I also felt that teaching was something that gave me immense pleasure.

The silent struggle that I went through has helped me grow. Besides, I have seen my parents struggle to provide me and my siblings the happiest life. This has not only made me stubborn for living the dream I dreamt of forever, but also has inspired me. These struggles have made me a survivor who can adjust with any sort of situation. All this led me to TFN. I ended up applying to TFN Fellowship mainly because of two reasons; one is to prove my parents that the dreams I’ve been following since my childhood are worth fighting for. I want them to have faith in my faith and understand what the fellowship means to me. Next, I want to feel the satisfaction of being able to help one more person each day. I always yearned for doing something that would give me inner peace and satisfaction of being able to give back and TFN has been the perfect platform.
