TEACH FOR NEPAL INDUCTED 55 FELLOWS TO IT'S ALUMNI MOVEMENT
Teach For Nepal celebrated 55 Fellows two-year journey are teachers, mentors and change makers in community on Sunday, April 9^th, 2017 (27^th Chaitra, 2073)

Kathmandu, Nepal (April 2017) – Teach For Nepal held their Annual Event 2017 on April, 9^th 2017 at Kamladi, Pragya Pratishtan, Kathmandu, Nepal. The event welcomed 47 new cohort members to the two-year Fellowship program and inducted 55 Fellows to Teach For Nepal Alumni movement.

At the event, Teach For Nepal Fellows and students led entrepreneurial activities were displayed and plays and dances were performed by 59 students from 15 different public schools in Lalitpur, Sindhupalchowk and Dhanusa.

The students were very excited to display their projects in front of more than 800 guests. “I was delighted to display my project to Minster of Education, Dhaniram Poudel,” said Ramsudip Ram, Grade 10 student Sohni Mujeliya Dhanusa. “My friends displayed their Mithala arts to the minister and we were able to learn different cultures from friends from other districts.”

Students from Bhotenamlang, Sindhupalchowk presented their Mushroom Farming Project in the exhibition. Sangeeta Giri, a student from class eight shared, “I feel proud to share my learning with others.”

The event was opened by Shanta Nagarkoti, a student from Lele, Lalitpur, who is a recipient of United World College scholarship. She was a student of Teach For Nepal Fellow and will be attending her higher education in Germany from Fall 2017. Swastika Shrestha, Co-founder, and Head of Training and Support said, “Every child deserves a quality education that Shanta received. They should all receive dedication, investment, and love that a parent give to their children.”

Teach For Nepal proved, quality education can be provided to every child,” said Dhaniram Poudel. “Teach For Nepal’s movement of today can be the movement of the country tomorrow, the goal of Teach For Nepal and our government's goal to achieve excellence in education are aligned, we wish them all the best for their tireless efforts.”

Keynote speaker, Dr. Upendra Mahato shared his stories of struggle, hardship, and inspiration of his life with the audience. The students from Manikhel, Lalitpur performed an emotional play based on the real stories of rural communities, students from Dhanusa performed their native Jhinjhiya dance and students from Gimdi, Lalitpur recited slam poetry based on real stories of their community. Teach For Nepal Fellows and Alumni’s also shared their learning and experience.

काठमान्डौ।

टिच फर नेपालले यही चैत्र २७ गते आफ्नो पाचौँ वार्षिक कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न गरेको छ। कमलादीस्थित नेपाल प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठानमा भएको कार्यक्रममा २ वर्ष ग्रामिण समुदायका स्कुलहरूमा आफ्नो कार्यकाल सकेका तेस्रो समूहका फेलोहरूको बिदाइ तथा ६ हप्ताको तालिम पश्चात नयाँ वर्षको वैशाखदेखि विभिन्न स्कुलहरूमा जाने पाचौँ समूहका फेलोहरूको औपचारिक स्वागत गरेको छ।

कार्यक्रममा विभिन्न टिच फर नेपालका विभिन्न फेलोहरू र विद्यार्थीहरूको नेतृत्वमा स्कुलहरूमा भएका उद्यमशीलता, विज्ञान, प्रविधि तथा साहित्य र कलासम्बन्धी परियोजनाहरूको नमुना प्रदर्शनी भएको थियो। यस प्रदर्शनीमा टिच फर नेपाल कार्यरत धनुषा, सिन्धुपाल्चोक र ललितपुरका १५ स्कुलहरूका ५९ विद्यार्थीहरू सहभागी थिए।

आफ्नो विद्यालयमा गरेको परियोजना सयौँ नयाँ मानिसहरूको अगाडि देखाउन र व्याख्या गर्न पाउँदा खुसी लागेको विदयार्थीहरूले बताए। धनुषास्थित सोहनी मुजेलियाका कक्षा १० मा अध्ययनरत रामसुदिप रामले शिक्षा मन्त्रीलाई आफूअगाडि देख्दा खुसी लागेको बताए। रामसुदिपसँगै उनका अरू ४ साथीहरूले मिथिला चित्रकला प्रदर्शनीमा राखेका थिए। धनुषाबाट आएका अन्य विद्यार्थीहरूले विभिन्न ठाउँका साथीहरूको संस्कृति, रहनसहन र चालचलन सिकेको बताए।

सिन्धुपाल्चोकको भोटेनाम्लाङबाट आएका ४ जना विद्यार्थीहरूले आफूले विद्यालयमा सुरू गरेको च्याउ खेतीको नमुना प्रदर्शनी गरेका थिए। कक्षा ८ मा अध्ययनरत संगिता गिरीले आफूले सिकेको उद्यमशीलताको कुरा अरू मानिसलाई पनि सिकाउन पाउँदा गर्व लागेको बताइन्।

प्रदर्शनीसँगैको औपचारिक कार्यक्रम ललितपुर लेलेकी शान्ता नगरकोटीले सुरू गरिन्। टिच फर नेपालका फेलोहरू कार्यरत विद्यालयमा पढेकी उनी युनाइटेड वर्ल्ड कलेज जर्मनीमा कक्षा ११-१२ मा पढ्न छात्रवृत्ति पाएकी छिन्। कार्यक्रममा सबैलाई स्वागत गर्दै टिच फर नेपालका सह-संस्थापक तथा तालिम प्रमुख स्वस्तिका श्रेष्ठले शान्ता जस्तो भविष्य सबैको अधिकार भएको बताउँदै भनिन्, “हाम्रा विद्यार्थीहरूलाई आमा बुबाको जस्तो लगानी, समर्पण, माया र मिहिनेतको खाँचो छ।“

टिच फर नेपाल अभियानले शिक्षामा सुधार सम्भव भएको प्रमाणित गरेको भन्दै शिक्षा मन्त्री धनीराम पौडेलले भने, “टिच फर नेपालको आजको अभियान भोलि समग्र नेपालको अभियान हुनेछ।“ नेपाल सरकारको तर्फबाट शुभेच्छा प्रकट गर्दै पौडेलले नीतिगत, संरचनागत र विधिगत रूपमा राज्यले गरेको प्रयत्न र टिच फर नेपालको उद्देश्य समान रहेको बताए।

मुल वक्ताको रूपमा गैर आवासीय नेपाली संघका संस्थापक अध्यक्ष, रुस-नेपाल उद्योग महासंघका अध्यक्ष तथा गणतन्त्र बेलारसका लागि नेपालका तर्फबाट मानार्थ महावाणिज्यदूत डा. उपेन्द्र महतोले आफ्नो बाल्यकालदेखि हालसम्मको संघर्षको कथा सुनाए। कार्यक्रममा ललितपुरको मानिखेलका विद्यार्थीहरूले मार्मिक नाटक देखाएका थिए।

धनुषाका विद्यार्थीहरूले झिँझिँया नृत्य तथा ललितपुर गिम्दीका विद्यार्थीहरूले सामुहिक कविता वाचन गरेका थिए। टिच फर नेपालका वर्तमान फेलो र एलमले समेत आफ्नो अनुभव र सिकाइबारे मन्तव्य दिएका थिए।
