Nestled in the heart of Sheratar – 7, Kushumawati Secondary School emerged in 2043 B.S. and founded through collaborative efforts, including community donations of land and collective labor during shramadan activities, the school initially thrived as a primary institution, drawing inspiration from the revered god Kushmawati. However, over time, challenges emerged, leading to a decline in student enrollment and concerns about educational quality and teacher competence. The Covid-19 pandemic further impacted the school, reducing its student body to approximately 50 and prompting a reevaluation of its educational offerings.

Recently upgraded from a primary to a basic school with the generous support of Surya Nepal, Sheratar Community School is now undergoing a transformative journey toward becoming a model educational institution. Spearheaded by a collaborative effort with Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, the school aspires to be a light of quality education, adopting a fully ICT-based curriculum accessible to both local and external communities. The ambitious vision includes offering free, high-quality education to children and comprehensive teacher training programs.

Amidst the challenges, the school environment remains focused on student growth, fostering connectivity and support among teachers and staff. Energetic educators continually introduce innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and exposure. Sheratar Community School serves a diverse population, primarily comprising Chhetri, Magar, and Gurung ethnic groups. The community actively participates in development projects and sports initiatives, fostering a harmonious environment devoid of discrimination. While the economic background is generally average, residents actively contribute to societal betterment, making education accessible to all, regardless of financial means. As the school undergoes this transformative journey, it continues to embody the spirit of unity and dedication to building a brighter future for its students and the community at large.
