Srijanshil Basic School 1

Srijanshil Basic School 2

Shree Sirjanshil Basic School was established in the year 2047 B.S. It is still the only basic school for the 4 to 5 nearby villages so children from different communities walk for about 1 to 2 hours to reach the school. A total of 106 students are currently enrolled in the school however, absenteeism is uncommon because the students are disciplined and eager to learn. The school is one-storeyed building which was partially destroyed by the earthquake. Talking about the classrooms of the school, the primary classes in grades 2-5 are not entirely partitioned which disturb the classes and distract the students. Furthermore, there is a scarcity of desks and benches in the classes. There are no separate toilets for males and females rather they have to share the same toilet with no proper lock system. Additionally, the school compound is not secure because it does not have fences.

The people in the community are welcoming and culture driven. The community comprises 99.9% Gurung families which is why Gurung language is widely spoken. However, Nepali is a secondary language so people have difficulty understanding and speak in Nepali. Equality can be seen in the community because both men and women are involved in construction work and farming. Wifi facilities are not available here but the network is good and data facilities can be easily availed.
