I was born in a middle-class family in Kathmandu, the area around the airport to be precise. It is a labyrinth of alleys and gullies where I grew up cycling. I intend to return to my home no matter where life takes me so that I can give back to the community that made me. The school I attended was more like a family of merely 170 students. I stayed in the school hostel and we helped each other in everything from cooking meals to cleaning the school vicinity. My school reinforced my belief system and quenched my thirst for knowledge. Alongside, I feel very fortunate to have had the experience of family and friends embedded into my mentality. I was diagnosed with anxiety in the past which still affects me at times. I make decisions after a brief cost-benefit analysis in my mind. This strategy of decision-making leaves me less worried as I can opt for the optimal option. While I was in Dubai, I was working in a hotel industry where being unsocial was not at all acceptable. I had to speak with many stakeholders, staff and most importantly the guests. I was reluctant to hold any interactions but I handled it descently. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and it proved to be progressive in terms of my personality development. My father who served as a social worker impelled me to follow his footsteps. The teach For Nepal staff made me feel welcomed. I have learned so much from the few interactions I had with them and the fellows. I can only imagine the kind of person I will be by the end of my fellowship but I am sure I will be well-rounded than I am now.

Let's stay in touch.
