My journey has been one shaped by adversity and resilience. Growing up in Attariya, Kailali, I excelled in my SEE examinations, but personal losses early in life drastically altered my academic path and my understanding of privilege. Where I once thrived in school, these hardships led to a significant decline in my performance. Yet, instead of breaking me, this experience sparked a determination within me to give back to those who face struggles like I did.
Coming from a middle-class family, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to pursue education when even basic necessities like books feel like luxuries. To support my family, I began giving home tuitions, using the income to finance my college education. My mother’s small fruit shop and my brother’s contributions were essential in making it possible for me to continue my studies. These experiences taught me invaluable lessons about sacrifice, perseverance, and the power of education to change lives.
Teach For Nepal is the platform I’ve been searching for—an opportunity to use my creativity and passion for teaching to impact students in rural communities. I’m inspired by the Fellows before me who have worked tirelessly to bring quality education to those who deserve it the most. Through this Fellowship, I will develop my teaching skills, collaborate with diverse individuals, and help build a brighter future for Nepal's children.
I believe that education is a powerful tool for transformation. Joining Teach For Nepal will allow me to be a part of that change, not just in my local community, but across the country. I know that by sharing my knowledge and experiences, I can make a meaningful difference in the lives of students, while also growing as a person and a teacher. This is the platform where I will turn my dream of becoming a role model into reality.
