Education: Bachelor's of Science, Tri Chandra College

I was born in Kathmandu but had to face mountains of hurdles as I was born in a middle-income family. My parents faced financial difficulties as they weren’t highly educated and had to work harder just to provide a proper meal for themselves. Despite economic hardship, I and my brother managed to finish our secondary examination from Paribodh Boarding High School, Dhobighat.

I faced another mountain of a hurdle after SLC as I was striving for higher education. I had to pass through different levels of ups and downs while pursuing my Intermediate but stayed strong and on a course. After passing my Intermediate, I wanted to pursue a degree in medical science but was unable to pursue due to financial difficulties in the family. I had to sacrifice my dream of practicing medicine and focus on Bachelor’s degree in Zoology. I enrolled in Tri-Chandra Campus and was surprised on my first day when I saw more than a hundred students sitting in a single classroom. During my campus life, I decided to support my family while pursuing my bachelor’s degree at the same time. I joined Spiny Babbler, an organization working for children after passing +2 to support my family and later joined a school in Balambu as a teacher.

In my Fellowship, I want to use my experience as a teacher and my bachelor’s degree education to help students learn about science using immersive exercises. I plan to use team-based exercises to solve smaller problems, as well as simple, carefully tailored questions that students in a class might respond through interactive methods. This way students will gain a much deeper understanding of science when they actively grapple with questions than passively listening to answers.

I want to pursue my Masters in Food and Nutrition from Tribhuwan University and work as a teacher in the future to shape the lives of our future generation.

Let's stay in touch.
