Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Gazipur Agricultural University, Bangladesh

Nisha grew up in Belbari, Morang, raised largely by her grandparents while her parents worked, and it was in that quiet, warm household, full of stories, patience, and care, that her character was first formed. She was a disciplined and observant child who dreamed of becoming a social worker, inspired by stories of selfless service, and that early instinct toward helping others never left her, even as her path wound through biology, veterinary medicine, and eventually, a classroom. After completing her schooling in Morang and her +2 in Kathmandu, she crossed into Bangladesh to pursue a Bachelor's in Veterinary Medicine — an act that required adapting to a new country, a different culture, a language barrier in lectures, and the deep disorientation of being far from everyone she knew. She built a routine, sought out her classmates and teachers, and kept going until the unfamiliar became navigable and then, eventually, a source of strength. It is her mother, however, who she names as her most important influence: a woman who never had the opportunity to study much herself, but who managed her responsibilities with quiet steadiness, made sacrifices without complaint, and showed Nisha — through action rather than words — what it means to be disciplined, resilient, and committed. Nisha joins Teach For Nepal carrying all of that: the rigour of her training, the empathy built from hardships and emotional sensitivity, and a deep belief that education — patient, grounded, and human — is the most powerful form of service she can offer. She hopes to contribute to service and impact on people, and acknowledges that education is a space where long-term change begins.
