I am from a lower middle class family in the Tharu community. Seeing financial struggle and hard work of my parents, I was always interested in earning money and working which almost led me to leave my studies. Due to our financial condition, I started my schooling at the age of seven. I performed well so I skipped three grades (KG, 2 and 5). Unfortunately, my mother hasn’t gone to school and my father has only attended school through 8th grade. They work all day and night just to ensure that I attended a private school. Therefore, I know firsthand the inequity in education here in Nepal.

Through this fellowship, I know I am being part of a change.

I will be changing the lives of hundreds of children who have the potential of leading this nation towards improvement. Personally, I will also be changing my perspective, gaining more experience, and understanding my country. This fellowship will help me to pursue my long term dream of empowering Nepal via agriculture and becoming an entrepreneur.
