Education: Bachelor’s of Engineering, Advanced College of Engineering and Management College, Nepal
I was brought up in a society where women are considered inferior to men and are not allowed to work outside the four walls of the house. But my parents were aware of the value of education and made sure I got the best of education. My parents even moved to Kathmandu to make sure that we were able to get an excellent education. Since high school, I was very much intrigued by mathematics and was always looking for different ways to understand math concepts. My love for math led me to Advanced College of Engineering and Management where I graduated with a B.E. in Electronics and Communication. Graduating with an engineering degree was not easy because there were countless sleepless nights when I had to work hard to achieve success in the subject matter. My parent’s motivation always helped me to give my best.
Throughout my Fellowship, I want to use my experience of private tutoring to help students learn fundamental of maths. Being a private tutor for three students made me realize that different children learn in different ways. Mathematics is seen by many students as hard and boring and they pour endless scorn on the claim that math is rewarding. I want to change that belief and teach them math by introducing fun ideas and games to the classroom to create a strong love and appreciation for math so that they have a successful future.
I have been tutoring since my second year of bachelor’s and after Fellowship I plan to work with children. I want to guide children while creating a print-rich, learning environment to foster their growth.
