Education: Bachelor’s of Engineering, Srinivas Institute Of Technology, India
My family believes that education helps to establish a successful life. Their dream has always been to make sure that all three of their children were well educated because they had to struggle a lot for not being educated enough.
My father, being the sole financial provider of the family, spent most part of his life in a foreign country. Although he faced many difficulties he always made sure that we got an excellent education to be successful in life.
While pursuing my Bachelor’s in Engineering in Srinivas Institute of Technology, India, I volunteered to advocate the importance of voting. During that time, I realized how powerful role an individual has to bring change in a community. After graduation, I started teaching underprivileged children who attend public school in my hometown. There I came to understand the harsh realities of children who go to public school and how they lag behind in basic educational achievements.
I was looking for opportunities where I could be part to improve and change the current public school education system in Nepal. Right at that time, I came across Teach For Nepal and was fascinated by the work Teach For Nepal’s Fellows were doing in public schools. I was impressed by the impacts Teach For Nepal Fellows were making not only in schools and community but also developing their own leadership skills through Fellowship.
