Education: Bachelor’s of Arts , Bright Vision International College

My parents did not want me to go to a public school. I used to question, why my parents were pessimistic about sending me to a public school. In face of several adversities, both of my parents worked extremely hard to get quality education for me and my two siblings. I slowly came to understand the reasons and grew a strong desire to be a teacher, that too at a public school to improve the conditions for public school students.

The motivation to become a teacher amplified while I joined my Bachelor's. One of my teachers treated me like her daughter. She was the one who always emphasised on giving back to the society and who encouraged my desire to teach. She not only encouraged me about my potential, but also insisted that I helped my friends do better in life. She was a mother, teacher and a social worker at the same time. She has been a true role model – an example of what a difference a teacher can make in the lives of her students.

I came to know about TFN through social media. Being a student of social work, I always aimed to be a change agent working in the field of education and was intrigued by TFN's work. I got more attracted when I found out that TFN works with public schools. This will make an excellent opportunity for me to understand Nepal’s public school system and grow professionally alongside, serving a critical need of quality education in rural public schools.

Let's stay in touch.
