Education: Bachelor’s in Social Work , NASA International College

My mother moved to a foreign land when I was seven years old and when I needed her the most. Being away from her was the most difficult time of my life. Growing up, I realized that this incident had already changed my personality. I was unable to express what I really wanted to say and my belief system had stopped working. However, despite my quiet nature, I pushed myself to participate in debate competition once in a while.

I was awarded 50% scholarship for higher education in Finland. It was a proud moment for me and an assurance of my hard work and dedication. I chose not to go because I felt that, as a Nepali youth, it is important for me to give back to my country. This is the right time for me to align with Teach For Nepal’s educational movement and serve the children and community. I saw my mother’s eye filled with tears during TFN’s Parent Event, which I take it as a very proud moment.

My determination to work for students in rural areas has accelerated after that. I had always wanted to work in the area of awareness about depression and drugs abuse to teenage kids of Nepal. Being a Teach For Nepal Fellow is the best opportunity for me to closely understand the mentality of young kids. I am so happy that this platform will first help me contribute in ending education inequality in Nepal and also help me get closer to my dream of providing awareness to young kids.My mother moved to a foreign land when I was seven years old and when I needed her the most.
