Teach For Nepal Fellowship is an opportunity for brightest and most promising Nepali youths, who have graduated from best universities and workplace from Nepal and abroad, to serve as full-time teachers. Annually hundreds of outstanding graduates apply for the Fellowship of which, only 7-10% of applicants are eligible to become a Fellow and enroll onto the program from a range of diverse academic backgrounds.
Through two years of teaching and working with key education stakeholders, Teach For Nepal Fellows are exposed to the grassroots realities of Nepal’s education system and cultivate the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to attain positions of leadership in and beyond education, working collectively to build a vibrant movement for educational equity across Nepal.
Every child deserves the opportunity to shape their own future and livea fulfilling life. However, a child's background often influences their life outcomes. Children from less privileged communities do not receive the same educational opportunities as their peers. Social and economic gaps have further widened this educational divide, making it even more challenging for these children to access quality education.
Fellows teach in rural schools for two years, significantly improving students' academic outcomes and gaining firsthand experience of educational challenges.

The first and mandatory step to apply for the Teach For Nepal Fellowship is the Online Application. Once you complete the registration form (link available on the homepage), an application link will be sent to your email. This stage allows you to present your motivation, experiences, and commitment to educational equity. Ensure you check your inbox and submit a well-thought-out application before the deadline.
Applicants with strong online applications will be shortlisted for the First Interview. This is an important opportunity for you to share your personal story, leadership experiences, and alignment with our mission. For candidates inside the Kathmandu Valley, interviews will be conducted in person. For those residing outside the Valley, a virtual option is available. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email to schedule the interview, followed by a confirmation call from our Recruitment, Selection & Matriculation (RSM) team. Interviews are typically scheduled within 10 days of application submission.
The Assessment Center is the final and most immersive stage of our selection process. Candidates who successfully clear the first interview will be invited to participate in a full-day, in-person session held at the Teach For Nepal House. Here, you will engage in activities designed to evaluate your leadership potential, critical thinking, and ability to thrive in a community-focused environment. Invitations are sent via email, with a follow-up call from our RSM team. The AC is usually scheduled within two weeks of the first interview.
Candidates who demonstrate outstanding potential and alignment with the vision of Teach For Nepal will receive a Fellowship Offer—a prestigious opportunity to create lasting change in the country’s education landscape. Offers are communicated within one week of the Assessment Center via email and phone call. This is the beginning of a transformative journey toward personal growth and national impact.
Selected Fellows embark on a six-week Learning Institute, an intensive preparation phase that lays the foundation for both the Fellowship and lifelong leadership. Through a blend of structured sessions and lived experiences, Fellows gain essential skills in pedagogy, leadership, teaching practices, and community engagement. The institute fosters a deep sense of purpose, resilience, and readiness to make a difference from day one in the classroom.
My fellowship is a commitment to transforming the lives of Nepali children. Through Fellowship I aim to achieve this by upgrading school facilities, empowering student families, and actively contributing to community growth.
As a Teach for Nepal Fellow, I taught Math in middle school for 3 years from 2013-2015. My interest in hands on learning during my Fellowship led me to Tufts where I did my research work on faculty perceptions of makerspaces.
