Trek For Kids: Charity Challenge to Everest Base Camp

Teach For Nepal invites you to join charity challenge -  a life changing trek in the Himalayas. The 2017 “Trek For Kids” campaign offers opportunity to trek to either the Everest Base Camp (EBC), the foot of the highest peak in the world OR to Langtang Valley, in the shadows of Langtang Himalayan range.  

The trip to Everest Base Camp, which involves 12 days of trek through the high Himalayas will bring you up you to 5,545 meters (18,192 ft)  through one of the most beautiful sceneries and breathtaking landscape.  This challenging, yet a very exhilarating trek in Nepal will take you to the base of the majestic Mount Everest.

Alternatively, if you prefer a shorter trek, six days of trek through Langtang valley will you take you through the beauty of Langtang region in the footsteps of Langtang Himalayan region. The trek brings you up to Tserko Ri Peak (5000m/16,404ft). The trek not only supports the work of Teach For Nepal but also the communities returning back to life and livelihood destroyed by April 2015 earthquake.  

The funds raised through “Trek For Kids”  charity trek to Everest Base Camp and Langtang Valley Trek will support the work of Teach For Nepal.


Participant Fundraising Goal:

Everest Base Camp: USD $3,000 (UK £2,400)

Langtang Valley Trek: USD $ 2,500 (UK £2,000)

  2. Create a Campaign at www.teachfornepal.org by clicking on “Campaign” button.
  3. Raise funds from your friends and family. You can contribute yourself or ask for support from people around you.

How fit do I need to be?

The treks are in high altitude regions therefore can be challenging. However, the trek doesn’t require any special climbing skills. If you have been jogging, running or going to gym or in reasonably physically fit to walk for 6-8 hours  a day - you can do the treks. The group will also have a guide and potters to support you.

Do I need special equipments?

Except for some warm clothes and good trek boots, you do not need any special equipment.
